Gerald Arthur Ehrke 91, of Elyria passed away Tuesday June 19, 2018 at The Abbewood in Elyria following a brief illness. He was born March 7, 1927 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident. Gerald was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria.

He served in the U.S. Navy, and retired from The Pfaulder Company as a Quality Control; Manager following thirty eight years of service. Survivors include a daughter; Kandace Koleski (Michael) of Elyria, a son; Tim Ehrke (Judy) of Elyria, three grandchildren; Amanda Paxton, Adam and Nicholas Ehrke, three great grandchildren; Morgan Baatz, Brianna and Reagan Ehrke, and a sister; Norma Calhoun of Lorain.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of sixty seven years; June Marie (nee: Foley), his parents; Arthur and Theresa (nee: Bohash) Ehrke, and two sisters; Geraldine and Lotus. Funeral services will be at 6:30 PM Tuesday June 26, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt.

57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where the family will receive friends from 3:30 PM until time of services at 6:30 PM. Pastor Bill Mugnolo will officiate. V.F.W. Post 1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home immediately following services.

Burial will be private at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Gerald’s memory be sent to Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria, OH 44035.
