Gerald “Gary” J. Goodyear Sr., 67, of Readstown, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 surrounded by his family at the Vernon Memorial Hospital. He was born October 17, 1951 in Princeton, Wisconsin the son of Thelma (Brunn) and Walter Goodyear. Gary grew up in rural Sauk County.

He attended Richland Center Schools. In December of 1969 he married Marilyn Klingaman. They had two children Barbara and Gary.

He worked in auto body shops and in 1977 started his own business Goodyear Auto Body. In… Read More » 1990 he moved his business to Readstown. Gary married Georgia Stage in May 1991.

He continued to run Goodyear Auto Body until the time of his death. Gary is survived by his wife Georgia, daughter Barbara (Brian) Scott; son Gary (Dawn) Goodyear; step-daughter Sarah (Kevin) Banker; sisters: Sherrie, Dixie, Marilyn, Linda; brothers: Walter, John, Robert; mother-in-law Marcella McNelly; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Thelma; sister Beverly; brothers: Alan and Larry; stepson Marty; father-in-law Bill.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
