In Remembrance… Gerald “Jerry” “Wolfy” Wolford was born on July 16th, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to Harley Franklin Wolford and Mary Madeline Watkins Wolford. He was the 4th of their 5 children; Barbara, Donald, Dennis, and Michael respectively. As a young man, Jerry enjoyed music and photography and brought this innovation and love of music to his life and children.

He played the trumpet and guitar in high school and his love of photography fed his love and enjoyment of technology in the years to come. He was a young man fresh out of high school when he decided to join the US Air Force in 1968. He looked to the excitement of defending his country towards the end of the Vietnam War and became a Fire Fighter/First Responder for the USAF.

Jerry was stationed at Torrejon AFB, where he met Manoli Perez Perez. They started a life together that ended in this mortal world on November 29th, 2018. Together Jerry and Manoli raised two daughters; Maria-Fernanda and Susana.

He never missed a Spelling Bee, a Recital, or School Event, regardless of the strenuous time constraints of a Fire Fighting / First Responding for the USAF. He retired from the USAF as a First Responder, after 21 years. He continued his service to his country with the 6th Ranger Training Brigade for an additional 25 years.

He was a service to the public and saved lives in his community of Niceville, FL as well. Jerry loved animals and always had a family pet, or two. He loved country music, karaoke, comedies, Sci Fi movies and was fascinated by technology and computers.

Jerry was comforted by his wife Manoli on the day of his death at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on Thursday, November 29th, 2018. Survivors include his Wife Manoli, his two daughters; Maria-Fernanda and Susana with her husband Charles, and his four grandchildren; Ana-Ysabel, Javier, Daniella, and Nicholas, and his Sister Barbara, her family and his brothers Dennis, and Michael and their families as well as his brother Donald’s family, and his adored pets Bonita and Tony. A Loving Husband, Father, Sibling, Son, Grandfather, and Friend that will be dearly missed.
