Gerald Otto Hardenstein January 6, 1932 – December 16, 2018 gerald otto hardenstein, age 86, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Sueno Narisawa Hardenstein. Father of Charles N. Hardenstein(Patti VanBuskirk) and Susanna M. Luebe.

Born: January 6, 1932 Death: December 16, 2018 Son of the late Karl R. Hardenstein and Emma Sinclair Hardenstein. Brother of the late Morris, Raymond Grubman, Karl R. and Howard J. Hardenstein. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Spring Truax, Stephanie Rogers and Christopher Hardenstein and 4 great grandchildren.

A native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Lacombe and Slidell. He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsmen and was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam. He was an X-Ray Technician for several hospitals in Jefferson and Orleans Parishes.

He was a parishioner of St. Lukes Catholic church and was a 4th Degree and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Interment with military honors, will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Wednesday after 12:00 O’clock noon until funeral time. Donations to St. Lukes Catholic Church, preferred, in lieu of flowers.
