Gerald W. Martin, 81 of Hopewell Twp. Passed away on April 30, 2019 after an extended battle with cancer. He was born August 3, 1937 in Maryland and was the son of the late William and Mary Jane Martin.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Zwolski. Gerald was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hopewell Township. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He was a retired employee of Ionics Corporation where he worked as a Journeyman Machinist. In his spare time Gerald enjoyed reading and playing chess.

Surviving Gerald is his wife of 41 years, Lydia (Corsi) Martin. Five sons and a daughter: Stefan (Diane) Martin, Christopher Martin, Eric Martin, Michael Michalec, Rachel Halladay and Nathan Martin. Five grandchildren: Brittany, C.J., Ian, Connor and Reece.

Two great grandchildren: Merrick and Addison. Gerald is also survived by a sister, Judy Nicastro, a brother Thomas (Kathleen) Martin and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 15001 724-375-0496 Departing prayers will begin 10:45 am Friday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to B.F. Jones Memorial Library or the Boy Scouts of America Troop 435.
