Geraldine B. Eggert, nee: Toomey, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 10, 2019 at her home. She was born July 9, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth Toomey. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Girls High School then worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone.

She was married to her late husband Edward in April 1949. She is survived by their 3 children Karen (John) Kelly, Mike (Sharon) Eggert and Terrence (Maura) Eggert. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Patricia Sebol, Thomas Toomey, Jr. and Barbara Yara. Geraldine loved reading, especially mystery novels, gardening and spending time with her family. She was an independent spirit who was proud of her large and loving family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home, 10300 W. Grand Ave. (1/2 block east of Mannheim Road), Franklin Park. Interment will follow immediately at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
