OBITUARY Geraldine Grayston November 2, 1937 – December 7, 2018 Geraldine Gray Grayston passed peacefully away on Friday, December 7, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 2, 1937 to Walter Lewis Gray and Edna Stevens Gray in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Don M. Grayston on August 14, 1959 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Their marriage has been an example of kindness and service to their family for 59 years. Geri was a caring and involved mother who supported her children in all their activities. She may not have been as excited about sports or fishing as the rest of her family, but she could be found cheering at the sidelines of all their games and catching fish with the rest of them.

Geri was a wonderful cook and her children fondly remember her delicious homemade dinners and treats. Geri had always dreamed of becoming a nurse and worked hard to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah in 1960. She was proud to be a nurse and loved her job.

She was always willing to work wherever she was needed and blessed many people with her compassionate and knowledgeable care. She was very creative and had many hobbies including sewing, knitting, and crafting. Her home is filled with her beautiful creations.

She loved to make things for others and shared her talents with many people. Geri was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings and was especially fond of the time she spent as her ward’s Primary President.

She loved to do family history work and spent many hours at the Family History Library putting together records that her family treasures today. We would like to thank the compassionate and caring people that helped care for Geri, especially Adriana, Jenni, and Lisa. Geri is survived by her loving and devoted husband Don M. Grayston; her four children, Randy D. Grayston (Liz), Scott H. Grayston (Pam), Lane W. Grayston (Pam), Gina G. Knorr (Brett); 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings Jeanie Bartschi, Lewis Gray, Wallace Gray, and Bill Gray. A viewing will be held on Wednesday December 12th 6:30 – 8pm at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Another viewing will be held on Thursday December 13th 12pm, followed by a funeral service at 1pm at Valley View Stake Center, 2245 E. 3900 S., SLC.
