Topsham – Gertrude J. Bergeron, 94 of River Rd. , died Tuesday Oct. 30, 2018 at her home following a long and full life.

She was born in Brunswick on March 12, 1924 a daughter of Joseph W. and Victoria B. Earl Cloutier and was educated in St. John’s School. On September 2, 1946 she married Gerard O. Bergeron Sr. and began their family. She worked at Worumbo Mill in Lisbon Falls and later Jay Brush in Brunswick for many years.

Gertrude enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening both flower and vegetable, and canning in the fall. She was a very handy woman willing to tackle any project including sheet rocking, laying tile floors, and siding the house. She was a communicant of All Saints Parish, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Gertrude is predeceased by her husband Gerard who died Jan. 12, 2005; her sisters, Georgette Camere, Annette Barnes, and Marie D’Angelo; and brothers, David, Joseph, and Larry Cloutier. She is survived by a daughter, Susan D. Gagne and her husband Douglas of Topsham; sons, Gerard O. Bergeron of Topsham, and David Cloutier and his wife Donna of Mesa, Az; seven grandchildren, and many Great and Great Great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank CHANS and Hospice for the exceptional care given to Gertrude by them. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10am Wednesday Nov 8th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
