Gilbert F. Young Jr., age 74 of Batesville, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at Margaret Mary Health. Born November 20, 1944 in Batesville, he is the son of Anna Mae (Nee: Tunny) and Gilbert Young Sr He was former owner of the Batesville Dairy Queen and a member of St. Louis Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #1461.

Gib loved woodworking, especially making furniture for his family. He followed the Reds, Colts and Bengals and enjoyed eating out. Gib also looked forward to attending his grandkids functions.

He is survived by his wife Rheadawn; daughters Mandi Voss of Memphis, Tennessee, Milli Dunkin of Kennesaw, Georgia; sons Tre’ Young of Hamburg, Tim Young of Batesville; sisters Donna Amrhein of Westport, Indiana, Diane Hill of Batesville and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother David Young and one grandson. It was Gib’s wishes to be cremated with no calling.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 21st at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
