Obituary for Gillus Lee Carter Gillus L. Carter, 30, of Tuscumbia died Friday, August 31, 2018 from injuries sustained from a hit and run accident. Visitation will be Monday, September 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 4th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro.

Malcolm Scott and Bro. Larry Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Gillus was a native of Florence, an automobile mechanic, and a member of New Life Tabernacle. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and son. He loved and missed his father and the time they spent together golfing, fishing, and hiking.

Gillus was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Roll Tide! !

! Most importantly he was a Christian who loved the Lord and was ready to meet him. John 3:16 Gillus was preceded in death by his father, Gillus Carter; sister, Jody Carter; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Katy Carter; mother, Kay Claunch; son, Gabe Pentecost; daughter, Gia Carter; siblings, Jason Carter, Jennifer Carter, and Joan Hurt all of Tulsa, OK; special friends, Justin Canerday, Logan Putman, Marc Mitchell, and Wyman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers are Sammy and Robby Carter, Justin and Michael Butler, Justin Canerday, and Logan Putman. Honorary pallbearers are Christian Pickens and Gabe Pentecost.
