Gladys R. Engebretson was born June 13, 1947, in Bismarck, North Dakota to George Moffitt and Margaret (Glum) Moffit. On September 24, 1964, she married Dennis Engebretson. They had two children: Barbara and Scott.

Gladys spent most of her life waitressing at various restaurants in Norfolk, and working at Dale/Vishay Electronics for 47 years. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Doug Moffit, Lee Moffit, Jackie Dewald, and Susan Manson. Gladys is survived by daughter, Bart Engebretson of Genoa, NE.

, and son Scott (Ivy) of Council Bluffs, IA. ; her grandchildren, Katie, Kristina, Angel, Kyle, Eric and Cordell, and also blessed by great-grandchildren Tessa and Tanner. Other survivors include siblings Nancy Moffit, Rose Ohlauser, Raymond Moffit of Bismarck; Ronnie (Linda) Moffit of Lincoln; Marcella Moffit of Rolla; Betty Grage of Hawarden, IA; Irene Reather of Portland, OR; Shirley Lave of Billings, MT; Jean (Dick) Austad of Fairfield, MT; and Donna Houle of Dunseith, ND.
