Glen Ray Engebretson November 19, 1957 – January 08, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Glen Ray Engebretson, age 61, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2019 in his home in Perham, MN. Glen was born November 19, 1957 to Raymond and Mary (Messick) Engebretson of Pelican Rapids, MN. Glen grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids.

After graduation, he moved to Fergus Falls, MN where he lived under the care and supervision of West Central Community Services. Throughout his adult life Glen was employed by The Salvation Army in Fergus Falls, MN. He also was employed by The Fergus Falls Midweek, delivering weekly newspapers in his neighborhood.

Glen participated in Special Olympics and was proud of his many “ribbons” he received. Glen was an avid “Star Trek” fan, collecting movies, books and anything Star Trek. He loved to take photos and spent hours organizing his photos of family and friends.

Glen was cherished by his family. He loved to dance (and he was good at it), joke around but most of all he taught his family all about unconditional love. He will be remembered by his family for the joy, laughter and love he gave to them on a daily basis.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of West Central Services, Fergus Falls, MN for providing Glen the opportunities to learn to be independent, experience new things and make many new friends. In June 2016, due to health issues Glen moved to Perham, MN. A special thanks to the staff of West Central Community Services in Perham, MN for the excellent care that was given to him with dignity and kindness.

Glen is survived by his brothers: Keith (Diane) Engebretson, Kalispell, MT and Dean (Danelle) Engebretson, Chanhassen, MN; sisters: Carol (Gary) Senske, Perham, MN and Patty (Glenn) Chiodo, Park Rapids, MN; nieces and nephews: Dawn, Trenny, Steele, Aaron, Megan, Keegan, Leah, Toni, Nick, Wade, Matt, Anne, Ali, Dawson and Eva; aunts: Marge Engebretson, Pelican Rapids, MN and Marlys Engebretson, Detroit Lakes, MN; many cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends. Glen is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation: Friday, January 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
