Obituary for Glenn Edward Meyer Glenn Meyer, 85, of Iowa Falls, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Mercy North Iowa in Mason City, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be 10:30 am Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Hampton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday, November 4 at the Woodley Funeral Home. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Glenn and his family. Glenn Edward Meyer was born December 16, 1932 to Lammert and Henrietta (Thies) Meyer on a farm Northwest of Ackley, Iowa.

Glenn attended country school and then high school at Geneva, Iowa graduating in 1951. Glenn attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette where he earned a basketball scholarship. He married Roberta Weyrauch of Alden in 1955 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Glenn was a farmer who raised 24,000 turkeys one year. He also sold seed corn and was a carpenter. Glenn was active in his church, until his health deteriorated, where he sang in the choir and was on several committees at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Glenn and Roberta (and family) belonged to a Coachman camping club. He enjoyed all sports. At the age of 72 Glenn retired from farming and moved with Roberta to Iowa Falls in 2005.

Glenn loved to play board games and card games with the grandchildren and also enjoyed telling jokes. Glenn Meyer is survived by his wife, Roberta Meyer of Iowa Falls, Iowa; children, Deb (Harold) Muller of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Dan Meyer of Bakersfield, California, Tony Meyer of Chesterton, Indiana and Angie (Jerry) Risius of Ackley, Iowa; a son-in-law, Ron Fitzpatrick of Wheaton, Illinois; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Art Meyer, of Clear Lake, Iowa.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammy Fitzpatrick and a stillborn son, Douglas Meyer; siblings: Elaine Lauterbach, Harold Meyer, Lambert Meyer, Victor Meyer, and Raymond Meyer.
