Mr. Glenn “Jockey” Heywood Chapman, 74, of Society Hill, passed away Thursday morning, February 21st, 2019, at McLeod Health-Cheraw. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon, February 24th, 2019, in Welsh Neck Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5-7 on Saturday evening at the home of Jay & Nancy Chapman, 6745 Highway 52 South, Society Hill.

Mr. Chapman was born in Cheraw, a son of the late Edwin & Eva Bryant Chapman. He loved spending time outdoors and working on anything. Glenn was a father who was always there for his children and greatly loved his grandchildren.

His favorite hobby of all was fishing. Surviving are his children: Jay (Nancy) Chapman, Tammy (Larry) Keith, and Gregg Chapman, all of Society Hill; grandchildren: Brandon Chapman, Kameron Chapman, Cody Chapman, Madeleine Chapman, Jacquelyn Chapman; brothers, Henry Chapman and William Riley; a sister, Helen Bethea and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Parker Chapman; parents; grandchild, Justin Mark Byrd; and several siblings.
