She was born on July 11, 1944 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Charles Clinton and Peggy Miles Perkins Willoughby.

Mrs. Odom was a career educator, retiring from the Polk School District. Throughout her career she taught at many different schools in various districts, but being the driven and devoted woman she was, she earned the Teacher of the Year at every school she went to. Mrs. Odom is survived by her husband, Larry Odom; daughters, Amy Rebecca Odom and Jennifer Devine Odom; son, Larren Craig Odom; sister, Debbie Braswell; and grandchildren, Joseph (17), Emily(16), Rebecca (14), Charlie (13), and Anna (7).

Mrs. Odom is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Linda Willoughby. In keeping with Mrs. Odom’s wishes, she was cremated. A memorial service for Mrs. Gloria Odom will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 4:30 in the afternoon at First United Methodist Church with Father Kemper Anderson officiating and Mr. Larren Craig Odom delivering a eulogy.

Floral arrangements are being accepted however memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave. , Fl. 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
