Obituary for Gloria V. Wittman Gloria V. Wittman (94) died on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Calvary Hospital where she spent her final days. She was born on August 22, 1923. Gloria was predeceased by her loving husband, Stephen, of fifty years.
Gloria was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. She met her husband Stephen while they both worked at Manufacturers Hanover Trust. While being a homemaker, Gloria did volunteering and was a choir member at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Hastings on Hudson NY.
She enjoyed hosting holiday family dinners, annual family picnics, card games including Bridge, crossword puzzles and especially Rummy Cube. Gloria and her husband, Stephen, enjoyed attending the Opera, traveled extensively internationally and made a point to explore gardens in many destinations. Gloria is survived by her children; son, Paul S.Wittman and wife Janice of Dobbs Ferry, son Donald J. Wittman and wife Regina of Danbury Ct.
, and Raymond J. Wittman of Chicago IL. She is also survived by grandchildren; Amanda L. Wittman of Dobbs Ferry, Stephen L. Wittman of Danbury Ct. , as well as one great-grandchild Christian.
Gloria cherished her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hastings –on-Hudson Volunteer Ambulance Corp or to Calvary Hospital. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9PM and Friday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave.
, Dobbs Ferry, NY. , where services will be held Saturday at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
