Grace Suzanne McCormick, 89, passed away Wednesday evening December 12, 2018. Mrs. McCormick was born on May 19, 1929 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of James and Sophia (Gardner) Schmidt. She married Glen McCormick on July 6, 1947, and together they would raise four children.

Grace was active in the community where she belonged to the garden club, Beaver Township Auxiliary, and was a member of Mt. Olivet Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, doing puzzles and gardening.

Grace loved spending time with her family, often hosting family gatherings and picnics. She will be remembered for her special love of brown cows and as our “Amazing Grace”. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children Art (Millie) McCormick of AZ, Glenda Roepke of North Lima, James (Dixie) McCormick of North Lima and Patricia McCormick of Struthers; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, and a brother Jim Schmidt. According to Grace’s wishes a memorial service will be held at Mt. Olivet Church on Friday, December 21, 2018, at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers the McCormick family requests that material contributions be made in Grace’s name to Hospice of the Valley. The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one. Family and friends are invited to visit www.
