Obituary for Gretchen M Jones Her Life Story Gretchen Marie Crocker Jones suddenly on Friday, November 23, 2018 was called home to be with the Lord. She was 72 years old. Gretchen was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey.

She was the 2nd eldest daughter of nine girls born to the late James and Ruth Crocker. Gretchen was educated in the Camden School System graduating from Camden High School Class of 1964. She also graduated from Pierce Business School.

Gretchen was a Debutante and member of the Junior Chapter of South Jersey Links Inc She worked almost 40 years for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. When she retired, Gretchen went back to school for Medical Coding and was Valedictorian of her class.

She called herself getting a job working part time for Family Foot and Ankle Center of South Jersey and wound up staying over eight years. She loved her job. And will be sorely missed.

Gretchen married the love of her life Nathaniel Travis Jones sharing over 54 years of marriage. From this blessed union were born two sons, Craig Anthony and Nathaniel Travis Jr She leaves to mourn her passing: a loving husband, Nathaniel Travis Jones, two sons, Craig Anthony, (daughter in law Yolana), Nathaniel Travis Jr., grandson, Craig Anthony Jr., brother in law Michael Jones (Carol), sister in law Ellen Martinas, six sisters, Ruth Crocker, Gloria Z. Gilbert (Eugene), Elva Thomas, Regina Crocker, Arlene Blount, Evelyn Tolbert (Ron), best friends Marvella Dansbury and Patricia Verdell Cole, a host of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by oldest sister, Lillian Johnson and younger sister Sheila Biddle, A special thank you to the Pennsauken Fire Department, Pennsauken Ambulance, Virtual Stat Team and Jefferson Hospital Staff that worked so hard. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Saturday morning December 1, 2018 at Shalom Baptist Church, 1036 South Broadway, Camden, New Jersey 08103. Viewing 9-11:00 am, Service at 11:00 am.
