Guadalupe’s Obituary Guadalupe Chapa, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 27, 2019 at the age of 75. A devoted husband, father, grandfather; now our guardian angel in heaven. He was born on February 29, 1944 to the late Regina and Jose Chapa in George West, Texas.

He devoted his life to his faith and his family. He had a heart that was always ready to help those in need. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

There are many wonderful moments that will keep his memory alive in our hearts. As a father and grandfather he provided for his family discipline and structure, but doing so with love and patience. Always with a smile on his face and joke on his lips, everyone he encountered left with a bit of happiness.

As a talented musician, Lupe greatly enjoyed playing the drums, even when the “noise” drove his wife crazy! Although his physical presence is no longer with us, the family is at peace knowing he has returned home to rest with his beloved Christina. He joins now, in heaven, both of his parents; wife Christina B. Chapa of 45 wonderful years together on earth and brother Richard Chapa.

Guadalupe leaves behind, to cherish his memories, his children: Lupe Chapa, Minnie Chapa, Mike Chapa, Frank Cuellar; grandchildren: Rosalinda, Racheal, Lupe, Justin, Jason, Michael, Jonathan, Frank, Petey and Xavier. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2 at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

Burial with full military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
