OBITUARY Gulen G. Tuncay November 18, 1934 – November 9, 2018 Gulen Tuncay, 83, passed away November 9, 2018 at 10:01 am at her home. A private family graveside service will be held at the Resthaven Cemetery followed by a public visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm. On Sunday, Nov.

11, 2018 at McLaren’s Chapel (801 19th St. West Des Moines, IA. ) Gulen was born in Istanbul, Turkey and lived most of her life in Istanbul. She moved to Memphis, TN in 1979 with her husband where they resided until moving to West Des Moines, IA in 1994.

Gulen was a very giving person, involved in many charitable/social activities and helped raise her grandchildren to help support her daughter and son-in-law. Gulen is survived by her son Engin Tuncay and Cheri Tuncay of Memphis, TN; daughter Deniz (Mike) Franke of Waukee, IA; grandchildren Cristy (David) Boggan of Memphis, TN, Melanie (Joe) Daher of Memphis, TN, Bianca (Andy) Rowland of Waukee, IA, and Brandon Franke of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren Keaton and Weston Boggan, future great-grandchildren Baby Rowland and Baby Daher. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa.

FAMILY Gulen is survived by her son Engin Tuncay and Cheri Tuncay of Memphis, TN; daughter Deniz (Mike) Franke of Waukee, IA; grandchildren Cristy (David) Boggan of Memphis, TN, Melanie (Joe) Daher of Memphis, TN, Bianca (Andy) Rowland of Waukee, IA, and Brandon Franke of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren Keaton and Weston Boggan, future great-grandchildren Baby Rowland and Baby Daher.
