Obituary for Guta Huppert Guta Huppert passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2018, at age 90. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years Abraham and her brother Abram Ejenbaum. She was a loving mother to Regina Berman (Theodore), Joseph Huppert (Deborah), and Sandra Leess (Fred).

Guta was a doting bubbie to Jessica Berman, Stephanie Eisenberg (Seth), Laura Hoffman (Chad), David Huppert (Joy), Jaimi Boehm (Tyler), Rachel Skinner (Nick), and D.J. Leess. She was the proud great-grandmother to Abigail, Benjamin, Carly, Zachary, Sean, Henry and Leo. She was the nurturing aunt to Maritza Leonard (Gene) and Maurice Ejenbaum (Kochi).

Guta was a woman of valor and the matriarch of our family. Throughout her life she epitomized the Jewish tradition of selfless dedication to the community. Beginning in Cuba, she was President of Young WIZO.

In the U.S., she established the Flamingo Chapter of “La Liga Contra el Cancer”. She was one of the founders of the Inter-American Chapter of Hadassah and was active in Israel Bonds since 1973. She was a founding member and President of the Women’s Committee of the Cuban Hebrew Congregation.

She was also a long term board member and Treasurer of her beloved Temple Menorah. Our lives are truly blessed and enriched by her passion, wisdom, strength and love. Services will be held at Temple Menorah Thursday, Sept.
