Obituary for Gwendolyn Boroughs Norton Gwendolyn Gladys Boroughs Norton, 92, passed away December 10, 2018. The daughter of Robert E. and Cora E. Boroughs, Gwen was born on Staten Island, N. Y. on March 29, 1926. Gwen married Russel E. Norton on January 10, 1945.

They were married for 70 years when Russ passed away on July 25, 2015. During Russ’ Navy career, the family moved frequently from Norfolk, Virginia to Great Lakes, Illinois and back, until Russ retired and they settled in Barhamsville, Virginia. Gwen is survived by son, Russel Norton, daughter Donna Davis (husband – Bill Davis), granddaughter Erin Fitch (husband – Ian) and great-grandson Caleb.

She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Formica and a brother, Robert Boroughs and their children. Two brothers, Donald and Douglas, preceded her in death. A longtime member of Pamunkey United Methodist Church, Gwen was involved in teaching Sunday School, organizing fellowship dinners, singing in the choir and enjoying other church activities with her friends.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Pamunkey United Methodist Church, 15700 Pamunkey Church Rd. , Lanexa, Va.
