Obituary H. Lorene Schafer, 94, of Clay City, passed away at Cobblestone Crossing on February 22, 2019. She was born in Cory, Indiana on November 21, 1924, the daughter of Floyd and Moyne (Rogers) Halt. Lorene graduated from Cory High School with the class of 1942.

She married Elsworth Schafer on March 13, 1948; he preceded her in death in 2011. She and Elsworth ran the family farm north of Clay City. She enjoyed reading, gardening, doing yardwork especially mowing the grass.
