Obituary for Mr. Hal C. Kemp Hal C. Kemp, 65, died May 24, 2018 at his residence. Hal was born in Starkville, Mississippi on September 20, 1952 to the late Roosevelt and Lottie Kemp. He was a graduate of B.L. Moor High School class of 1970.

Hal was known to most by his nickname “Sonny”. Shortly after high school he moved to Buffalo, New York where he worked as an independent truck driver transporting goods across the United States. Hal truly loved sports especially the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Lakers.

He enjoyed life and loved his family and friends. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Hal C. Kemp Jr. and Chad Kemp; daughter, Tamara Kemp; sisters, Johnnie Rowland and Annie Dancer; six grandchildren: Dajshon Kemp, Dominic Kemp, Tydeja Kemp, Karter Kemp-Scaife, Kiara Scaife, Tyanna Kemp; one great-grandchild, Lamaiya Kemp.
