Hannah T. Robles November 20, 1924 – December 29, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card At the age of 94, it is with heartfelt sadness and great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Hannah Theresa (Burke) Robles on December 29, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1924, she was one of seven siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. Hannah graduated from West Catholic High School in 1943.

Upon graduation, she worked in the chemistry laboratory at the U.S. Navy Yard in Philadelphia. There she met a very brazen sailor from the Netherlands. It was not love at first sight for Hannah, but Abraham “Dutch” Robles was persistent and won her over.

The two were married on November 18, 1944. When Dutch was discharged from the Navy, they moved from Philadelphia to Tabernacle, NJ, where they resided for over 70 years. During the passing years, Hannah was primarily a wife and mother who loved to bake.

She did volunteer work and was an active member of the Tabernacle Democratic Woman’s Club. After her children had all graduated from college, she became the secretary to the Construction Officials in both Tabernacle and Southampton Townships. Hannah and Dutchy enjoyed traveling in their travel trailer and saw most of the U.S. and then began their foreign travels to the Netherlands, France, Germany, China and Costa Rico.

Being and old “swabby”, they became very involved with Dutch’s ship reunions and spent many an enjoyable time reuniting with old friends and seeing many sights. Hannah was married for 61 years before her beloved “Dutchy” preceded her in death. They have 6 children, Roseanne Dent (William), Elizabeth “Liesje” DiDonato (Dennis), Theresa Thorpe (George), Winifred Mason, Joseph Robles, and Kevin Robles (Theresa).

Hannah has been blessed with 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. One of Hannah’s biggest pleasures in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife.

Her beautiful smile and hardy laugh will be missed by everyone. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 6-8PM, and again on Thursday, January 3, from 10-11AM, at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd. , Tabernacle, NJ.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, at the church. Interment will be in Junior Mechanics Cemetery, Tabernacle, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hannah’s memory to St. Vincent dePaul Society, 520 Medford Lakes Rd.

, Tabernacle, NJ 08088; or to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053. Arrangements by Mathis Funeral Home, Medford, NJ.
