Obituary for Hardy “Rocky” Porter Jr. Graveside services for Hardy Monroe “Rocky” Porter, Jr. age 84 wil be conducted Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2 PM in Brown Cemetery in Yonker, GA with Dr. Curtis Lysaker officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1 PM until the Service time. Mr. Porter was a lifelong resident of Laurens County, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam having served in the Marine Corps.

He was retired from Warner Robins Airforce Base, a member of Masonic Lodge 111 F&AM, a member of Scottish Rite, the VFW and Olivet Baptist Church in Dublin. He was predeceased by sisters, Rowenia Hinsley and Gerry Langston and brother, Gene Autry Porter; parents, Hardy M. Porter, Sr and Earline Pharis Porter. Survivors include his wife, Saundra Douglas Porter of Yonker; children, Rev.

H.M. (Tammy) Porter III of Savannah, Shannon L. (Michelle) Hanson of Bellingham, WA, Nicole (Chris) Maloney of Dublin and Bobbi (Jeff) Gordon of Bonaire; sister, Janice (Thomas) Chamblee of Dublin; brother, Sam “Butch” Porter of Columbus; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
