Harlie E. Ball, 84, of Franklin, NH, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on Sept. 12, 2018 following a brief illness. He was born in Guildhall, VT on May 28, 1934 the son of Wilbur W. Ball, Sr., and Dorothy (Woodward) Ball.

Harlie served in the NH Army National Guard attaining the rank of Corporal. He was employed for 48 years as an x-ray tech at Arwood’s (Wyman-Gordon) in Northfield and later at Merrimack County Nursing Home prior to retiring. Harlie volunteered at the Bread & Roses Soup Kitchen for several years and was later site manager.

His wife, Bette L. Elliott, died in February 2018. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and golf. Harlie was a member of the American Legion Post #1 in Laconia and the Franklin Lodge of Elks.

He was a helping hand to many friends. Family member include his children: Nancy Cahill of Franklin, Jodi Barnes and Debra DeLucca, both of Florida, and Nancy Plebanksi of Georgia, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Harlie was especially close to his nephew, Ernie Ball of Northfield.

A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. Donations in memory of Harlie may be made to Bread and Roses Soup Kitchen, c/o Claire Wallace, 135 Terrace Rd.
