Harold C Sonny Tennant Jr , November 04, 1946 — January 16, 2019

Harold C. “Sonny” Tennant, Jr., , age 72, of Beulah Rd. , Morgantown, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 16, 2019 at his residence. Born November 4, 1946 in Morgantown, he was a son of the late Harold C. Tennant, Sr., and the late Helen Josephine Rogers Tennant.

Survivors include his three daughters, Melissa and husband Micheal Forbes, Amy Tennant and husband Michael Simpkins and Andrea Tennant and boyfriend Shaun Capocelli; six grandchildren, Bryce and his wife Ashley, Lakyn, Ryan, Caleb, Mikalah, Landon, and one grandchild, Colt, who has yet to be born; a brother, Jerry Lee Tennant; three sisters, Sally Rich, Joyce Harris and Marilyn Cale; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Sargent. Sonny attended Morgantown High School and was employed by West Virginia University in their housing department.

He was a people watcher – usually doing so while drinking his coffee at McDonalds with his cronies, or by himself. Most of all, he was focused on his family, always trying to be the best dad, grandfather and brother that he could. At the request of his family, he has been cremated.

Friends may join the family to honor his life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave. , Westover, on Monday January 21st from 12:30 until the time of the memorial service at 2 PM officiated by Mr. John Conaway.
