HAROLD’s Obituary HAROLD J. “HARRY” VONDERAU, age 89 of Columbia Station passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. He was born April 9, 1930. Harry was preceeded in death by his beloved wife of over 65 years Julia (Welke) Vonderau.

He was the son of Harold P. and Millie Vonderau. Loving father of Sandy Gross (Mike), David (Rose), & Michael (Mary Jo). Grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 5.

Brother of Mary Lou (Lorie), Ken (Judy), & Linda (Jim). Harry joined the U.S. Navy Reserves as a ship carpenter on the Battleship Missouri. Harry went on to become a union carpenter in Cleveland.

Upon honing his craft, Harry became a contractor and custom home builder (Hearth Homes) with his son David. Many of Harry’s award winning custom homes can be seen in Red Tail in Avon, Columbia Station, & Valley City. Harry was an avid golfer, bowler, Las Vegas traveler, and Cleveland Indians enthusiast.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Recently in April, Harry reunited with 16 classmates from Parma Schaaf High School class of 1948 at monthly luncheons. Harry was kind and thoughtful – always looked at the good side of people and life.

Harry will be greatly missed. Memorial Service Tuesday, May 28, at 7:00 PM. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD.
