Harold James Bratt died May 4, 2019 in Paoli, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years 2 months 17 days. A visitation will be held from 8am-8pm, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Wadley’s Funeral Service with a Memorial Services scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Services are entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Jim was born February 18, 1934 in San Diego, California to Harold William and Mary Josephine (Hatton) Bratt. He was raised and attended school in California. Jim was inducted into the United States Navy on August 24, 1951, proudly serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was honorably discharged on February 24, 1955. Jim married Lilyan (Howard) Bratt on September 21, 1952. Jim worked as a fire fighter for Spring Valley Fire in California until his retirement in 1983.

He moved his family to Oklahoma in 1993, following a job in aerospace. Jim and Lilyan were married for 44 years before Lilyan’s passing in May 1996. Jim worked for the Delta Public Transit, where he met Connie Love.

They were united in marriage on November 11, 2011 in front of the Delta Office in Purcell, Oklahoma. Jim loved being a firefighter and talked about it often. He enjoyed dancing, tinkering and rebuilding automobiles.

Jim was a hard worker, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed traveling in his early years, and took great pride in his hair. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Bratt; a sister, Verta Lee Bratt Reeder; his 1st wife, Lilyan (Howard) Bratt; a nephew and a niece.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Bratt of the home; daughter, Linda Bratt Winn (Jerry Winn) of Ashflat, AR; son, Jay Bratt of Paoli; daughter, Denise Bratt Phillips (John Phillips) of Ashflat, AR; stepdaughter, Jennifer Luck (Jarod Ethridge) of Noble; stepson, Michael Rose (Arielle Pinciro) of Norman; Dusty Rose (Tara Rose) of Moore; 12 grandchildren, Nicole Bundnik (Eugene Bundnik) of San Diego, CA, Issac Oriol (Coco Oriol) of San Diego, CA, James Bratt (Kenna Bratt) of Maysville, Jason Bratt (Michelle) Paoli, Sarah Bratt (Steven McBroom) of Cushing, Kristyna Reeves of El Dorado, AR, Phoebe Gabrille Whatley of Paoli, Kaydence Brightwell of Noble, Issac Ethridge of Noble, Bodhi Ethridge of Noble, Sun Rose of Norman, Gunner Axl Rose of Moore; 16 great grandchildren, Dylan, Cash, Kendall, Cade, Wyatt, Raymond, Kelly, Mark, Olivia, Junior (Sara), Abigail, Julian, Paul, Elizabeth, Eugenie, Liam; 2 great-great grandchildren, Silas and Octavia; sister, Dorothy Bratt Flores of San Antonio, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
