Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Kristofferson officiating.

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Harold was born July 19, 1937 in Mexico, the son of Samuel Leslie and Nellie Olive (Gentry) Strait.

On July 26, 1954 in Mexico, he married Dorothy Mae Bishop. She passed away on October 26, 2003. Mr. Strait was a carpenter most of his life.

He had also worked several years for the City of Mexico. He liked to garden and fish, but above all, he loved his family dearly. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Strait of Mexico and Cynthia (Brian) Cox of Palmyra; one son, Harold (Janet) Strait, Jr. of Mexico; and four grandchildren, Ryan (Christa) Cox of Camp Point, IL, Jason (Nikki) Cox of Eau Claire, WI, Cortney Cox of Hallsville, and Dani Cox of St. Louis.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Harold was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Strait. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Centennial Baptist Church. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
