Obituary for Harriet J. Bennett (Brown) Harriet “Jeanie” Bennett, age 77 of Joplin, MO passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Jeanie was born July 16, 1941 in Carthage, MO. The daughter of Roy Brown and Mabel Kreighbaum.

She was the owner of Bennett Trucking Company. Jeanie was also a lifetime auxiliary member of the VFW where she has been serving for over 25 years. She has held many positions including President of both the Women’s Auxiliary and the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Doug Weems and wife Bobbi of Tulsa, OK. ; one daughter, Melody Kuhn and husband Coby of Lake Wylie, SC. Thirteen Grandchildren, Seventeen Great-Grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband George Weems and one son, Curtis Weems. Jeanie was a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
