Harriet Mozelle Folmar August 12, 1938 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mozelle Stanley Folmar, 80, passed from this life into the presence of Jesus January 17, 2019 at Cottingham Hospice House, Seneca, South Carolina. She was born in Bonifay, Florida August 12, 1938, the only child of JB and Xuripha Stanley. She received an Associate’s degree in Nursing from Wallace Community College, a BS in Nursing from the University of West Florida, and worked for many years in healthcare in Crestview, Florida.

She served on the American Cancer Society Board, the American Heart Association Board, Hospice of Northwest Florida Board, and was an ombudsman appointed by the governor for Assisted Living and Nursing Home facilities in the third Congressional district of Florida. She married John P. Folmar August 14, 1955. She and John were residents of Seneca, South Carolina at the time of her death.

Mozelle was a member of Seneca Baptist Church. She was known by all as an accomplished cook and hostess, even winning a national recipe contest. She was a planner and organizer extraordinaire , and was the catalyst for many committees and activities both in her church and in the communities in which she lived.

She is survived by her husband John of Salem, South Carolina; two daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Jones (Bart Shelnutt) of Salem, South Carolina and Dr. Kay Folmar of Palm Desert, California; a grandson, Matt Jones (Sarah) of Williamston, South Carolina; and four great grandchildren, Nathan, Will, Katie Beth and Sam Jones of Williamston, South Carolina. A graveside service was held at New Hope United Methodist Church, south of Vernon, Florida, on January 22, 2019. The family requests that memorials be made to Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, South Carolina 29672.
