Harry Edward’s Obituary Harry Edward Lins Jr., 87, of Double Springs, entered into rest on January 31, 2019 at Lakeland Community Hospital. Mr. Lins was born on April 24, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois. Harry served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War as Corporal of the 25th Division – 35th Regimental Combat Team and was awarded the United States Army Combat Infantry Badge.

He was a member of First United Methodist Double Springs for 20 years and attended Christ’s Fellowship Assembly of God many times. Harry was a graduate of Amundsen High School in Chicago, Illinois. He retired as a National Claims Superintendent for the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in Chicago.

He was a Little League Baseball Coach in Streamwood, Illinois and President of Streamwood Bowling League. Harry loved Jesus, his wife, his son, and waving at everyone going by his home on Hwy 278. He enjoyed caring for his cats, gardening, taking trips to The Gulf of Mexico and to The Great Smoky Mountains, and watching Chicago Cubs Baseball, Atlanta Braves Baseball, UAB Basketball, Chicago Bears Football, Atlanta Falcons Football, and Alabama Football.

The most enjoyable game he watched was in 2016 when the Chicago Cubs Baseball Team won the World Championship. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 11am-12 noon at The Rock Family Worship Center in Double Springs, where services will be held at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pastor Drew Robbins will officiate. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Marie Borden Lins; son, Edward Gail Lins; sisters, Gladys Patsy Koral, Jeannie Stawasz; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Edward Lins Sr. and Elsie Leto Lins; sister, Lou Lou Hoover; and father and mother in law, G.O. and Alice Borden.
