Obituary for Harry Louis “Buddy” Garison Harry Louis “Buddy” Garison, 90, of Orangefield, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2018, at his home in Orangefield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2018, at First Christian Church of Orangefield. Officiating will be The Garison Brothers.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orangefield, Texas, on August 25, 1928, he was the son of Stanley Garison and Mazura (Linscomb) Garison.

Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on to become the owner and operator of Garison Automotive, where he was a well-known and highly respected mechanic. It was known that many people would only let Buddy work on their vehicles.

Buddy was a member of First Christian Church of Orangefield, where he taught Sunday School and was a lay preacher for many years. He performed funerals for many family and friends over the years. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Chica, fishing, raising cattle, and deer hunting, and he took up golfing after he retired.

Buddy’s family was very important to him and he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved taking them for rides on the golf cart. Buddy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mazura Garison; the love of his life, wife of 53 years, Tommie Beth Garison; his brother, Stanley Garison, Jr.; and sister, Margaret Rose Hartsfield. He is survived by his children, Dusty Garison and wife Kathy, Harry “Buzzy” Garison, Jr. and wife Debbie, Jimmy Garison and wife Christy, and David Garison and wife Gina; his grandchildren, Travis Garison, Justin Garison and wife Laura, Ross Garison and wife Elizabeth, Drew Garison, Caleb Garison and wife Alison, Seth Garison and wife Colette, Jamie Hood and husband Jeremy, Kylie Hoffman and husband Brendon, Brittany Garison, and Erin Beth Garison; his great-grandchildren, Daniel, Juliet, Titus, Hadley, Rosalie, Chloe Beth, James, Ashlyn, Tommi Alice, and Addison Rae; his siblings, L. C. Garison and wife Brenda, and Velma Jo Hopkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and church family. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Garison, Justin Garison, Ross Garison, Drew Garison, Caleb Garison, Seth Garison, Jeremy Hood, and Brendon Hoffman.
