Harry Lee Davis, son of the late Goins Davis and Lena Crudop Davis was born on March 10, 1934 in Franklinton, North Carolina. He was called home on March 15, 2019Harry Lee Davis Sr. was raised in Franklinton, North Carolina and attended the Franklinton County Public School System. In 1953 Harry joined the United States Army and served our country honorably during the Korean War.

When he returned to the states Harry met and fell madly in love with Mable Joyner. These two hearts became one in June of 1957 and from their beautiful union seven children were birthed. Harry Lee loved his family and dutiful provider through his fifteen year career at Phelps Dodge Copper Plant in Dayton, NJ and his twenty years of employment in the Howell Township School System from which he retired.

He was also a member of the Prince Hall Masonry. Harry Lee Davis affectionately known as Pop Davis was a man who enjoyed engaging in activities connected to faith, family, and fellowship. Harry loved the Lord and was an active member in good standing at New Destiny Worship Center in Toms River, NJ under the leadership of Apostle Miguel Ramos.

Other ways the Harry (Pop) Davis loved to spend his time included taking daily strolls, visiting Freehold Raceway, and being with family and friends. Pop Davis was a great conversationalist and could speak at length about basketball and baseball because he was an avid fan of both sports. His favorite teams were the New York Mets and the New York Knicks.

Pop Davis had an uncanny way of loving you to life! His hugs had a “Midas” effect and just warmed you in a way that made you feel valued and important. But the greatest loved expressed by Harry (Pop) Davis was for his family, his most treasured legacy.

Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mable Joyner Davis and his siblings: Barnabas Davis, Theodore Davis, Doris Davis-Pearson, Willie Davis, Stephen Davis, Pearl Holmes, Florence Davis, and Betty Reid; his in-laws Donald Davis and Louise Davis and his grandson, Steven Stallworth. He leaves to cherish his legacy, his in-laws: Mary Height of Neptune, NJ, Barbara Ann Rush of Jackson, NJ, Robert Joyner of Willingboro, NJ, and Clementine DeVeaux of Tinton Falls, NJ; his seven children: Daniel Davis, Lisa Taylor (Finance) of Jacksonville, NC, Deborah Bradley of Los Angeles, CA, Harry Lee Davis Jr., Cassandra Styles (Finance) of Asbury Park, NJ, Thomas Davis of Jackson, NJ, Rhonda Davis of Lakewood, NJ, Tanya Davis of Lakewood, NJ, Bryant Davis of Baltimore, MD, Sonjia Konkle and Justin Konkle (Husband) of Seabrook, TX. Harry Lee Davis has 30 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.
