Harry (Tip) Sawyer, 98, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Chan C. and Blanche Lunsford Sawyer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Nelson; and brothers Charles and Ray Sawyer.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara Shope Sawyer; daughter, Madeline Dillingham and husband Dover; granddaughter, Loren Hagearty; grandson, Kyle Dillingham; three great granddaughters; three nieces and two nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Riceville Valley Community Church on Saturday, December 8th at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riceville Valley Community Church, 2342 Riceville Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
