Obituary for Hazel E Callari Hazel E. Callari age 94, of Upper Sandusky, died peacefully at Fairhaven Health Care Community on Sunday December 9, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1924 to the late C. Glenn and Bernice (Schindler) Corfman. She married Charles R. Heiby who was killed in combat during WWII.
She later married Joseph Callari and together they owned and managed an apartment building in Upper Sandusky and also owned and operated the JJ Callari Hay Company for many years. Joseph preceded her in death on November 11, 1991. Hazel is survived by her bothers Gene Corfman, Saline, MI and Allen (Elaine) Corfman, Ottawa, OH and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a brother Harvey Glenn Corfman. She was the Valedictorian of the 1943 class of Sycamore High School. She was an accomplished musician and played the piano and accordion.
She played the organ at the Little Sandusky Bible Church for many years. Hazel, and her husband Joe, were avid fans of the Sycamore Wildcat basketball team during the early fifties. They were always in attendance at all the home and away games.
She always loved basketball games and later became a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeye team never missing a game on television. Hazel loved her church, music, animals, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am Wednesday December 12, 2018 in Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
A funeral service will then be held at 11:00am also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sandusky Bible Church, Mohawk Historical Society or a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave.
