Hazel O. Edwards, 100, of Schram City, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 12:50 a.m. at her residence. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.

Rev. Randy Sands, Pastor of Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Edwards was born on January 20, 1919, in Taylor Springs, IL, to the late Knox & Amanda (Hamilton) Prewett. She attended high school and had obtained her Real Estate License. She married George W. Mills, Sr. on April of 1935 in Hillsboro, IL and they later divorced.

She then married Paul Leroy Edwards on August 26, 1957 in Centralia, IL. He preceded in death on August 15, 1992. She had worked at the Hillsboro Hotel; The Dress Factory; Hillsboro Glass Factory; Hillsboro Junior High School Cafeteria and she and her husband, Paul, were owner/operators of a liquor store and of Edwards Real Estate & Insurance in Hillsboro, IL Mrs. Edwards is survived by one son, George W. (Faye) Mills, Jr. of Hillsboro, IL, five grandchildren, Gary Lee Mills of Las Vegas, NV; Kim Dankoski of Jersyville, IL; Lisa Dye of Troy, IL & Diane (Ben) Beeler of Hillsboro, IL; six great grandchildren, Ketch Mills, Adam (Meagan) Beeler, Brooke (Nathan) Lynch, Michael (Michelle) Dankoski, Chad Dye & Lucas Dye; and three great great grandchildren, Emersyn Beeler, Matthew Beeler & Karsyn Lynch.

Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by on son, Gary L. Mills. Memorials are suggested to Montgomery County Animal Control.
