OBITUARY Mrs. Helen Abramson October 20, 1928 – January 30, 2019 Helen Abramson passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at home. She was 90. Born in Montreal, Canada, she lived in Brooklyn for many years before moving to Marlboro in 1988.

Prior to retiring, she was an administrative assistant for her brother’s law firm, Schoengold and Sporn, Attorneys at Law, Manhattan, for over 20 years. Before that, she was the manager of Smitty’s Fashions, Brooklyn. Mrs. Abramson was a graduate of Lafayette High School, Brooklyn, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin, who died in 2004, and her son Alan, who died in 2015, as well as her twin sister, Ruth Hershman who died in 2017. Surviving are her sons; Marc Abramson and his girlfriend, Vivien Ortiz, of Dumont, NJ, Paul Abramson and his wife, Cheryl, of New City, NY; her brother, Samuel Sporn, and his wife, Ellen, of Brooklyn; 5 grandchildren; Lindsay Arnold and her husband, Adam, Rachel May and her husband, George, Jonathan Abramson and his wife, Marina, Stacey Abramson and her fiancé, Roman, and Jennifer Abramson; and 2 great-grandchildren: Addison Blake May and Jordyn Elaina May. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Penny Abramson, and her former daughter-in-law,Shelley Abramson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 1 at 11am at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, followed by the burial at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY. The family will be sitting Shiva at Helen Abramson’s Residence, 84 Peasley Drive, Marlboro, NJ, Saturday 2/2 night after 6 until 8pm, on Sunday 2/3 from 12-8pm, and from 12-8pm on Monday 2/4. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to the Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services at www.
