Obituary for Helen Brady Cooksey Helen Cooksey, of Waldorf, Maryland, died peacefully in her sleep one day after observing her birthday. Born on October 15, 1922 and died on October 16, 2018, she was 96 years old. Helen enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles.

In addition, she was an avid fan of the Washington Nationals and seldom missed a game on MASN TV. She was a devoted church member and her faith was very important to her. She lived a Christian life and was an example to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Cooksey; her sisters, Shirley Fields and Ann Blevins; and her brothers, Bill and Calvin Brady. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kittell (Joe); her son, Rev. David Cooksey (Carolyn); her grandson, Jody Kittel; her granddaughters, Kimberly Farley (partner, Jack West), Carrie Stewart (Andy), Anna Reynolds (Doug), Emily Cooksey (partner, Karl Singleton).

She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Friends received on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 11AM until time of Funeral Service at 12PM at Southeast Christian Fellowship Church, 3140 Q Street SE, Washington, DC 20020. Pastor Staley will officiate the service.

Burial on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11AM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made, in honor of Helen Cooksey, to Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603.
