Bernardini, 76, of Dowell, passed away at 11:25 A.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Helen had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Elkville Christian Church.

Helen attended Monday Night Jam Session and was an Elkville Crime Stopper. She was born October 31, 1942 at Buckner, IL, the daughter of Louise Lempke. She married Richard Bernardini in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 1973.

She is survived by one son – Richard Bernardini and wife Kim of Elkville, two grandchildren, who were the light of her life and she lived for – Trey Bernardini and Morgan Bernardini, both of Elkville, one sister – Dorothy Likes of Great Bend, KS, one brother – David Millen of Du Quoin, special family friends – Kenton, Kimbra and Elizabeth Schafer, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband and long-time special friend – Wayne Cornett. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Elkville Christian Church in Elkville with Bro.

Richard Castleman officiating. Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.

Friends may make memorials to the Elkville Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
