OBITUARY Helen Laughman Witt January 16, 1923 – October 31, 2018 Helen Laughman Witt, 95 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Wednesday October 31, 2018 at 8:45 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center. She was born January 16, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Roy & Mollie (Coons) Shimp. She worked at Sheller Globe for 11 years and at Walmart in Sidney for 7 years.
She was a member of Webster Methodist Church; Ansonia Senior Citizens which she served as president; Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; was a past member of the Versailles Eagles Auxiliary; she enjoyed senior bus trips. She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband: Lowell E. Laughman; 2nd husband: W.E. “Bill” Witt; son: Ronald Laughman; sister: Ruth Frantz; brothers: Clarence, Roger & infant brother Shimp. She is survived by her children & spouses: Connie Fries of Versailles, Ray & Wanda Laughman of Russia, Cindy & Roger Todd of Russia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren; brother: Paul Shimp of Versailles; sister: Barbara Berger of Versailles; numerous nieces, nephews, & friends.
A service will be held on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
