Obituary for Helen Marie (Johnson) Patterson Patterson, Helen Marie (Johnson) (1925 – 2018) Helen Marie Patterson passed peacefully on June 15, 2018, in Chaska, MN. She was born February 4, 1925, in Austin, MN. Helen attended Austin High School followed by St. Catherine’s University, St. Paul.

In 1947, while working as a medical tech in St. Louis, she met and married Dr. Lawrence Patterson and moved to Seattle, WA to raise their family. And after many years, returned to Minnesota where they spent their retirement. Helen was a woman of deep Catholic faith and a member of the Pax Christi Catholic Community.

She was also previously a member and active volunteer at the Church of St. Edward, Bloomington. She enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football, politics, reading and her grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Burnette and Isabel Johnson, her husband Lawrence, of 64 years, and her sister Jean Brown.

She is survived by her children: Kathy (Rennie); Mike (Nancy); Dan (Debby); Kevin (Beth); Betsy (Scott); Mark (Trish); John (Ginny); Jane (Ali); Jim (Josie); and Laurie (Tim), as well as by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 21 at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at Church only. Memorials preferred to Catholic Relief Services.
