OBITUARY Helen M. Meinke September 20, 1922 – December 7, 2018 Helen M, Meinke, 96, of Union IL, went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Coral Township, Union, IL, the daughter of August and Anna (Polnow) Bloedorn. In November 1941, she married Harvey Kunde.

She was preceded in death by Harvey and in September of 1989, she married Raymond Meinke who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children; Bonnie (Bob) Oser, Ginny (Edward) Sytsma, Larry Kunde; her daughter-in-law Bonnie; her 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her son, Gale “Butch” Kunde, her siblings and a great-granddaughter Jenna Mae Wellnitz.

Helen was a loving stay at home mother, who attended Marengo High School and taught Sunday school for 27 years at St. John’s in Union. She babysat and was a Scout Den mother. She was known for her cooking, baking and her World famous pumpkin pie; she loved to entertain and have her family over and she loved dancing at the Moose Club in Belvidere.

She will be dearly missed by her family and anyone who had the privilege to know her. Visitation will be on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St, Union, IL 60180. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Union.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to Marengo-Union Funeral Home, for information call (815) 568-8131.
