HOLYOKE Helen Virginia (Fontaine) Sudlow, 97, died peacefully in her sleep at Mont Marie Rehabilitation and Health Care Center on October 7, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Henry “Kid” Fontaine and the late Helen Fontaine, and was longtime resident of Holyoke, and more recently, Chicopee. Helen is predeceased by her husband, Peter Sudlow, and her brother, Raymond Fontaine.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church in Holyoke. Helen was an avid fisherwoman who practiced her sport at Hampton Ponds State Park. In later days she especially enjoyed walking along Memorial Drive with her longtime friend Virginia Dressell.

The funeral will be held Wednesday October 17 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, South Hadley. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
