Obituary for Helen Wells Helen Wells was born on October 12, 1935 to the union of Elrod and Mable Robinson. She was the youngest of three children. Helen was educated in the Chicago Public School system, attending Doolittle Elementary and Dunbar Vocational High School in what is currently known as the Bronzeville neighborhood.

Helen had two main hobbies- dancing and roller skating. She loved skating so much that at one time it was her desire to be part of Roller Derby. She was determined to not let the boys out skate her, and so she learned to do all the fancy steps and dancing on skates just like them.

It was at Park City Roller Rink, she met and later wed Leslie O’Connor, which to that union one child Janice was born. After studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses, she made her personal dedication to Jehovah and later, symbolized her dedication by water baptism in the spring of 1969. Helen served as a regular pioneer for a number of years.

She and her daughterJanice, had the privilege of attending pioneer school together in 1980. In 1975 Helen wed C. W. Wells and shared the joy of parenting his 3 children, Josette, Amos and Vicky, loving them as her own. They lived in Chicago, IL and later moved to Shelby MS, which is where she attended the Cleveland congregation before moving back to Chicago, IL in the 1990s.

Helen Wells fell asleep in death on August 15, 2018. Her brothers Paul and Titus both preceded her in death. She will be remembered by her daughter Janice Worsham (Dennis), step children Josette Martin (Floyd), Amos Wells and Vicky Wells, grandson Christopher Worsham, granddaughters Kenzie Worsham and Taylor Howard, niece Pauline Washington, great niece Rochelle Keith, in-laws Bobbie and Lytheria O’Connor, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
