Obituary for HENRY P. COMETTI Henry “Hank” Cometti, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at Loretto. He was born in Syracuse to the late Charles and Olga (Martinelli) Cometti in 1926. He graduated from Vocational High Scholl in 1945 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Syracuse University in1955.

He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Hank was founder and past president of Solvay Glass for 23 years and founder and president of Nova Glass for 12 years. He was longtime communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of Tuscarora Golf Club, the American Legion and Knights of Columbus-4th Degree.

Hank was predeceased by his wife Linda in 2000 and daughter Carol Mazzoni in 1992. He is survived by his children; Christine (John) Chappell, of Long Island and Chuck (Nancy) Cometti, of Fairmount, 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, a sister; Irene Cazzolli, of Camillus, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Monday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am at Holy Family Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue. Donations may be made in his memory to Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr, Syracuse, NY 13219.
