Age 95, of St. Paul, passed away on December 23, 2018. Born in Freeport, MN, Herb was a retired Ramsey County Courthouse employee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Anna.

Children Gary (Karen), Roger, Shirley (Jim) Merkling, Karen (Dave) Klein, and Roy (Elaina Bleifield). Grandchildren Jamie, Vicki, Pamela, Cathleen, Shane, Kevin, Paul, Alan, Daniel, Matthew, Marina, and Karissa. Great grand-daughter Amelie.

Sisters Priscilla Roering and Sr. Herman Tschida OSB. Brothers Oswald (Irene), Victor, and Ralph (Judy). Also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Special thanks to all those who cared for Herb. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (Randolph at Albert Ave’s, St. Paul). Visitation 4-7 PM Friday evening at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling Ave.

, St. Paul) and one hour prior to Mass at church on Saturday. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and School.
