OBITUARY Herbert Stewart Lowery October 4, 1933 – December 2, 2018 Mr. Herbert “Stewart” Lowery, age 85, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. A native of Douglasville, he was born October 4, 1933 to the late Eugene and Ethel Watkins Lowery. He was married to the love of his life, Martha Abercrombie Lowery, for 54 years and 364 days until her passing on July 11, 2008.

Stewart was a founding member and deacon of Heritage Baptist Church for 25 years. He retired as a Warehouse Manager for Sears in Atlanta with 37 years of service. He enjoyed doing yardwork, travelling in his RV and staying in his mountain cabin.

However, his favorite pastime was to be with his family, who he dearly loved. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Lowery; and a sister, Eleanor Newbury. He is survived by his son, Tommy (Kathy) Lowery; daughter, Susan (Tom) Herber; five grandchildren, Angela (Osie) Worgull, Jamie Lowery, Gary Herber, Amanda (Darrell) Blake, and Amy Herber; nine great-grandchildren; and his lady friend, Delree Prince.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Gene Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
